NON-PROFIT FOUNDATION
ABOUT US
Our Mission:

The La Vida Foundation is committed to eradicating Childhood Obesity and all its related illnesses. Our mission is to ensure that no child’s potential or life expectancy is cut short by preventable illnesses caused by Childhood Obesity.

The key objective of the La Vida Kids Club bilingual program is to reduce the incidence of Childhood Obesity. Our program has evolved from educating the children, to adding an outreach to parents/caregivers as well, in order to create parent -child partnerships crucial to success in the fight against Childhood Obesity.
Our Vision:

The Vision of La Vida Foundation is to have effectively educated children who will self-select positive health, nutrition and lifestyle choices, based on sound knowledge of the body’s systems.

The La Vida Foundation, a 501(C)(3) organization, was established in 2001 to address Childhood Obesity and its attendant diseases that decimate the minority and low-income multi-ethnic communities in Los Angeles County. Five years after its inception, its La Vida Kids Club program has quietly grown in leaps and bounds to become one of the most effective health education programs for children in Los Angeles County. Knowing that Childhood Obesity is the precursor to Stroke, Diabetes, Heart Disease, Hypertension and other deadly diseases, La Vida Foundation established the La Vida Kids Club subsidiary, and developed an intervention program, the La Vida Kids Club StoryTime, to provide innovative health education to children in pre-school through 8th Grade, using Storytellers who uniquely convey health education through the art of storytelling.
